my monstera hasn’t done much in quite some time.. i haven’t seen any new growth in maybe a month.. is that normal.. i also don’t know what i’m doing with the pole but she needed some support

    For plant growth they need energy (Sun/Grow Light), water (amount is dependent on plant) and food (fertilizer). If any one of these is not in the correct amount your plant will suffer or stagnate. So the questions are. Hoew much light is it getting? Aim for 1000 ft candles for 4 hours (sunlight) or 12 hours (grow Lights). Are you adding fertilizer? (Use one suited for indoor plants and dilute per bottle instructions). Are you watering it correctly? (Check the roots and soil. If it's consistently dry increase watering. If roots are brown/black and mushy, you have root rot. Cut those out and reduce watering. If there is more roots than soil about 80% for monsteras, repot with an aeroid mix). That's really it.

      Mine looks like this and it loves its pole and this plastic pot for drainage. Go online and look up a good recipe for the dirt the dirt mixture is very important:CocoCoar, light chunky bark, there’s recipes all over the Internet for the best Monstera dirt.

    Ft candles isn’t the measurement you wanna use. PPFD is what plants use. 1000 fc is like 180-220 PPFD *depending on the light source. Monstera to thrive need 250-500 PPFD. 100-250 PPFD just to survive.

      Most people aren't going to buy a PPFD meter.

      You don’t need to when there’s apps that do it for you. 😂 The app I have I did have to pay for the PPFD meter (£5) but the app itself was free to use and had other light measures in there. Regardless of the type of measurement the light it comes from plays the biggest part in converting it to PPFD anyway

    It looks like a Thai constellation maybe? I have one as well, about the same size as yours. Mine has only put out one new leaf since I brought it home back in May. Mine leans into the window so I added a grow light maybe a week ago above it with a 10 hour on schedule. So far, nothing to report. Next summer I might try putting her outside. That's the only place my monstera deliciosa will grow.

    Just by visual it looks a little floppy, but I found that mine take longer in between leaves as they get bigger. It’s about a month leaf-to-leaf now and mine have slightly smaller leaves. Not sure you need to be super worried.
