Looks like I’ve got to move my 100+ plant collection this month 🥲 I was expecting to move to a new apartment at the end of May, but luckily we didn’t sign on that place yet because my partner decided to break things off out of nowhere 😮‍💨 I’m not looking forward to the scramble to find a new place alone while living in a housing crisis area. But I talked with my brother and he’s interested in finding a place as roommates, since he had moved back in with our folks last Fall. I’m glad I’m not alone in this, or having to try to squeeze myself into our parents’ house too 😳 Man this is not how I thought 2024 was going to go…. Is it just me, or does nothing make you feel young like getting dumped by your partner, having to call mommy for help, and being roommates with your brother again? 🤪😮‍💨 Thanks for listening to my over-share lol

    I’m truly sorry. Of course I don’t know your circumstances but I am sending good vibes and hope for you that this is a blessing in disguise anyway. A hopeful chance for you to reconnect with others and yourself possibly in ways you have been missing. Sometimes it’s hard to see that silver lining but it’s always there.

    I truly understand your pain. I currently live with my mom. And I also have a daughter. We share a room. It sucks because my mom and I don’t see eye to eye. I’m saving everything so I can get on with myself. I’m sorry 🫶🏽

      Aw, yeah it’s sad that so many of us are in similar boats, but at least it feels less lonely. Hoping you and your daughter have good fortune this year 😌💚

    Relatable af. I had to move out of my ex’s house with less than a week notice when he decided that respect was for men and dogs but not women 🤦🏼‍♀️ Terrible circumstances and I didn’t love that I had to call my mom for help when I realized how quickly I had to be gone, but man did it show me how big of a support system I had (even though my local support system was virtually nonexistent). I’m sending you virtual hugs, and you’ve got the planta community’s support!

      Oof. That’s quite the decision on his part 😑 Glad your people showed up and treated you better. I don’t have the best relationship with my mom, but we’ve both been doing a lot of personal work since I’ve moved out. So I’m glad for that, and relieved to have her mobilizing the forces to help me figure this out My friends and family are suggesting a plant purge before I pack up, which of course would be wise. But I’m going to try to keep my collection if I can 😅 The plants were kind of a sore spot in the relationship, so it would feel like insult to injury if I couldn’t keep all my favorites even after I’m on my own. But I have to remember not to let my attitude get in the way of what’s actually best for me lol On the bright side, this past Valentine’s Day, I was jealous of everyone who got plants as gifts because my partner had said he wouldn’t want to gift me a plant. So now I guess there’s hope that someday I’ll be one of the folks waking up to a wishlist plant for V day or another occasion 😌

      You definitely will find someone to support the love. My boyfriend now makes me FaceTime him when I get excited about my plants so he can see what I’m geeking out about too, and he insists on buying me plants when I see one I love. The heartbreak makes the good ones even more special.

    I’m so sorry and I hope you figure things out. I’m only 13 years old so I don’t know what that’s like (I hope I never do) it must be so hard but good things are coming so don’t give up!😊 (It must be a pain to move 100 plants!😅)

      Thanks! Being 13 has its ups and downs too, to be fair. People like to say they wish they could go back and start over. But I’m not sure I need to re-live middle school lol. Maybe just the good parts Luckily it’s not actually my first time moving this many plants. It is a pain, for sure, but at least I’ve got some strategies now. Super glad I don’t have to move my plants in freezing weather like I had to with my best friend’s collection a few years ago. That was extra stressful and we had to do it all in one day! I think I’ll be able to do it in parts if I need to this time thankfully

      That’s good😅 But 100 plants! I know that plants just accumulate but wow! How do you take care of them all? I barely have time to take care of the 80 plants that I have.
