So I have replanted my money tree because my cats pissed all over the dirt and it started dropping leaves . The roots still looked good. Can anyone tell me will it be okay?

LynI have no clue about money trees, but just thought I’d suggest putting rocks all over the top of the dirt so your baby can’t dig in the dirt. I have cats to so I know that can be a pain lol

MardelThe pot looks too big for the plant . You can trim it down a bit and it will grow more stems .

The pot does look big but if the crown was larger than it appears right now it may have been appropriate sized. When you repotted it, how much of the soil were you able to remove? They're still could be urea down there. Flushing the pot would help rid it of that but then your soil would be quite wet. There is a product that is sold to treat spots of dog urine on a lawn. It neutralizes the urine. I'm not sure if there's a similar product that would neutralize cat urine. I also have a cat and have placed lava rock in the larger pots where he might think was a good place to pee. It has been quite effective because it is pokey on his feet.

So out of curiosity I looked it up. Cat urine is highly acidic, no surprise there. Hydrated lime will work to neutralize it. I don't know what this hydrated lime would do to your plant.

Bebe🌵🤍That’s so disrespectful of your cat lmaoo I’m so sorry! The pot does look too big but if anything, definitely chuck the current soil and add new soil if you haven’t already! The amounts of ammonia in urine is going to continue to kill the plant if the soil isn’t changed asap

Yeah this pot is temporary, I use to have a palm tree in it. My cats killed that one. But the roots were still good. So I am going to try and replant the palm tree. As far as the money tree goes I do plan to get a smaller pot.
