Got this variegated African violet about 2 weeks ago. It looked clearly heat stressed from shipping when it arrived and has been on the steady decline since it came. I’m newer to African violets so I don’t have a lot of tricks for them. I would appreciate any advice. I haven’t repotted her since she came. She is near (but not directly under) a good quality grow light.
I don’t have any violets but I believe they are similar to begonias. Give her some humidity. If you don’t have a dome just put her in a clear storage container with the grow light and just let her be for a few days. I just did that with the begonias I just received that were looking rough on arrival. It’s been a day and they are already looking way better. Hope this helps your cute violet.
African Violets have pretty easy care they just need it to be like perfectly consistent. When you get them new they are already annoyed about that care change and then they lose leaves and blooms. Mine did that so the best way to handle it is just put it somewhere and keep it there and always bottom water and make sure the soil is moist but not wet at all times. The plant doesn’t need too much light but they work best further from a west window or at a north window.
2개 좋아요These are the toughest, most durable plants I've ever had. Just water it as normal and it should bounce back just fine. Avoid getting water on the leaves; moisture can get trapped by the leaf fuzz and cause rot
좋아요 1개 I decided to repot it and trim almost all of the leaves off (all of the sick ones anyway). I hope it recovers! I’ve got time. 😂
