I was watering my snake plant and noticed this piece loose and it came right out of the dirt. It has no roots. It looks healthy…but I am not quite sure what to do. I obviously know little about this plant. Not sure if I should stick it back in the dirt, prop it or throw it out. Help!!!

Any advice on how to propagate this?

Make sure the bottom is calloused over (let it dry for a day) then just pop it in a jar of water. These take a long time to root, so be patient. It might take a few weeks to a month.

I never have but I would stick it in soil and keep moist or cut the top and make a upside down v and stick that in water that’s what I’ve heard works

The bottom of that leaf is suspect. I see brown/black on the bottom. If you try to prop that needs to be cut off. What is your watering routine for this plant? Soil should be totally dry between waterings. I’m thinking you may want to check out the root situation. Looks like root rot.

It has been completely dry before I water it for sure. There was dirt on the bottom and some dirt inside the plant. I did cut it though just to be safe.
