Hey, my girl Naomi has been with me since COVID, and she keeps getting these white sticky spots on her. I've been wiping them off with a mix of diluted vinegar and a damp cloth, but they always come back. I’m not really sure what the best way is to keep her healthy overall. She’s a bit raggity lately too. Any advice would be really appreciated!

Looks like mealy bugs, I’ve had these and it’s so frustrating! I would recommend a good wipe down of the plant top to bottom and a soil change. I took diluted rubbing alcohol on a Qtip spot attacking as it destroys the wax coating on the bugs. Baby mealys are harder to see, they’re little and brown and then get big and white once mature. Keep cleaning them off checking every few days for matured ones that are more visible! I eventually killed them all being vigilant - Good luck 😭

I had scale (mealybugs cousin) on my BOP. Had to result to using a pesticide b/c they hid inside the petioles and I couldn’t get to them. Good luck! Hopefully caught it early.

You need to clean every leaf front and back with 70% rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball, use a q tip for tight areas you can’t reach, then spray plant with neem oil to get rid of the mealy bugs
