I just noticed my ZZ Plant has a mesh bag around some of the stems. I’ve never noticed it before. I’m assuming I need to remove that.

    a cotton like material? If so yes, they say it degrades and isn’t harmful but I find it just suffocates the roots

      That’s what it look like. I had no idea till I was checking the soil today and felt it

    I remove all or as much mesh as I can, I find that if you don’t it 1. suffocates the plant and 2. They tend to be floppy in the pot

      I’ve noticed it really hasn’t grown much.

      That tends to happen, it’s out there to discourage growth so they can keep them small for stores, hard to sell big plants at box stores
