Moving for the first time with plants, and need advice. I know to travel with them in my car (as opposed to in the moving truck), and I’ ve heard that wrapping the pot in cling wrap is a good idea to keep the soil in the pot… Any other advice? I’m moving an aloe and a Hoya from Colorado to Utah, if it helps.

I’ve moved several times with plants. And usually just set them snug and upright in a box tall enough that they set all the way down in the box and keep each other from shifting. I’ve not heard the cling wrap tip but would be concerned it would produce a “greenhouse effect” on a plant and could be harmful by adding too much humidity (depending on the type of plant). I’ve never had issues with soil spilling or anything. Can also add towels, plastics bags, etc around all the pots to provide some cushion if they’re breakable pots.

Also, be aware of the light coming through your car windows. You wouldn't want any sun damage.

Good luck with a long drive! I had a friend sit in a back of a pickup truck & hold onto my plants😂

I use a tote, the high sides protect most of plants
