Does anyone know why Ms.Suzy is pooling with water when I bottom water her? She normally doesnt do this, I have had her for 6 years since she was a little sprout. I transfered her to this bigger pot years ago and she lost a lot of vines and leaves but other than that she was growing slowly. I just thought she was taking her time to adjust to her pot. A couple of months ago I moved her from the bathroom to the office cause she didn't like the bathroom anymore. Now, the last few bottom waters, she has water pooling up. She is being such a picky golden pothos. Any thoughts would be great!

The soil is just completely out of nutrients and has gone hydrophobic. Shouldve been trimming the vines back so they dont get too long and had the energy for foliage instead. As for the plant now… I would just take that long stem, roll it up into a big node ball, and put the whole thing into a bowl of water or plant it entirely for maximum roots and new stalks. Dont wrap it too tight. Keep lots of nodes on top for leaves.

agree with this one ☝🏽 Definitely need to make sure pot is upgraded when needed. My pothos is huge for repotting when ready

Okay. I didn't realize I was neglecting her so bad. I just thought she was still adjusting. I am gonna repot her and propagate the vine with no leaves, in hopes she will start growing again. Could I reuse the same black pot I have in the pic? I don't have any others that are empty at the moment. That white bowl is just her watering bowl, she sits in another pretty bowl.

Propagate all of it in water. I would remove all the soil, check for root rot and disinfect roots/pots/tools with hydrogen peroxide. Grow cuttings in clean water adding fertilizer and SuperThrive plant vitamins when the roots emerge. Put all the cuttings in small pots. You can put them all together to make a full pot when the roots are established in the soil. Fertilize regularly. Bottom water until the top soil is moist. Then, completely drain the excess water. Good lighting is a must. Add grow light 12 hours a day or give it bright indirect sunlight. 🪴🍀

By the looks of it she’s probably too small for that pot, although I can’t see the roots to tell. You’ll only want a pot an inch or two bigger than the root ball, and only repot if there’s more roots than soil. I would either propagate this plant or move it back to a smaller pot with better soil. Unfortunately the long stem without leaves won’t grow new ones from those nodes unless you propagate, but it’s a great opportunity to make a bushier plant instead of a long thin one. Hope this helps!
