This is Cash, my money tree. He was doing really well for a long time but now has lost all of his foliage. Should I cut down the stems? I haven’t found any root rot, bugs, or root bounding

My money tree really went through a phase too! It’s started growing new leaves which yours looks like too. I didn’t cut my stems down.

0 LikesI’ve got 2 money trees - same overall size/maturity, soil composition, light, water/fertilizer schedule. One is fussy as all heck though and always gets leaves with yellow/brown spots that it drops. Last winter it was nearly bald like yours so that’s when I did a repot with same soil mix as my other one, pruned back a bit, put it in a smaller pot, then put it out on my enclosed porch all summer with lots of sun and humidity and he made a huge comeback. But he’s being a jerk and doing the same thing this winter. I plan to chop him down in spring, probably about 6-8 inch above the brown portion of each stem
2 LikesUgh I’m sorry yours is giving you a hard time too! I was worried about it being too cold. Maybe I should put a grow light and add humidity. Thanks!

I would check the soil- I keep mine in an airy coco coir/pumice/charcoal/lava rock mix. I bottom water when completely dry. Also I have mine unbraided- maybe check if there is a tie below the soil? It tends to suffocate them. I also have mine under a grow light. I tend to chop leggy growth- I like a bushy plant.
1 LikeI did a repot to check the roots. I made sure to remove any ties too. Maybe I should switch the soil since the one I used isn’t as airy
