Hi all! I have this asian bell tree that is growing VERY tall but it had few bottom branches, a dense mid-section, and a healthy but less dense top. I don’t love the way it looks, and it needs a lot of support, so I just have a large branch as a temporary post. 😂 What should I do? Should I chop it? It’s doing very well and I want it to still be a tree, but just more consistent with its growth and maybe just a little more stronger.

this looks to be light starvation. based on the plants pictures on the profile, it's grown bushy and then instantly gotten leggy right where that wooden bar sits in front of the window, and is starting to get bushy again now that it's taller than the bar, you probably need a good grow light or to move outside if possible. i would chop off the top ~8 inches of this one and force it to branch. if you're looking for a stronger trunk, consider a fan, wind stimulates it to start corking

I agree, it needs more light. As for pruning to help it bush out, remove the top leggy section, and then thin the branches (see the picture). You can also look up bonsai pruning to learn more about encouraging growth and shaping the tree; the same techniques work no matter how big the tree is or how natural a style you want
