    I would check to see if the roots are growing out of the drainage holes or of they are wound around the inside of the pot

      This, or if you notice the plant stop growing suddenly while you’re maintain fertilizing, watering, and light requirements.

      I'd add, if you find the soil is drying out every day. That usually means there's more roots than soil. Best to pull the plant out of the pot and take a gander. If you see nothing but roots, repot. If it's 50/50,its fine. As for slow growth that's a good sign except for winter. They will stop growing in winter, only to pick right back up when spring hits.
