I’m moving in August, and taking these plants with me. Does anyone have any tips on how to move them with the least amount of disturbance?? They’ll be going on a 3 hour drive. My calathea had spider mites around 2 months ago but is being treated regularly and i have not seen any mites since. I also have a fern bonsai and Alocasia corm that fairly delicate. Any tips are appreciated!

When I moved I wrapped my plants up and put them in the car footwell wedged in with other stuff- they all made it in one piece!

Thanks! What did you use to wrap them up?

I cling filmed some and paper wrapped others- they were only like that for half a day so I didn’t see any difference or effects on the plant between the methods

I am moving 12 hrs on October and i plan on using and packing i find and also extra bamboo sticks or trellis’ to keep things from falling over, putting them all in a box and making sure it’s a tight fit so no one moves around

I used boxes and packed them in pretty tightly. I had many recommendations to use a wardrobe box, didn’t end up trying it but passing along in case it’s helpful for you

Carefully. All I can offer is that I moved 90 plants by myself last year (only a 45 min drive, but it took four trips) and it wasn’t bad.

Thank you! The plant is called a pilea peperomioides, or Pilea for short. They’re super easy to take care of in my opinion, they just need bright light and some fertilizer once in a while and they’re happy!
