Tips and tricks with a Venus fly trap?!? I really want to get one, but want to make sure I know everything I need to prior to getting one! I’m not sure how difficult they are, I have done zero research but I wanted to ask here first! :)
i wouldn't say they're too complicated, there's just a lot of misinformation out there. venus flytraps can ONLY EAT BUGS, not hamburger meat or whatever science-experiment-esq stuff you see people say. only feed one or two traps at a time, once a month at maximum. think of feeding your vft like a really strong fertilizer, too much will kill it. biggest mistake i see is not enough sun, they need 6hrs of bright light minimum or they get leggy. west or south windows only, or a grow light. be mindful of the winter dormancy, they look dead but aren't. you can put them outside if it gets cold where you are but if not, a ziploc in the fridge will also work. take it back to it's normal spot after the last frost in your area. other than that they're not too demanding imho
