Hello! I’m hoping to propagate one of the babies from my spider plant soon, but I’ve never done it before. I’m planning to snip the plantlet off of the stem and plant directly in soil… any tips or thoughts? Thanks!!

I've had better luck propping in water than soil. I do have a tendency to underwater, though. As long as you're diligent, soil should be fine

If you're talking spider grass, you can pop the plantlets into soil that you keep moist (you can even have the pot sitting in shallow water until they get some decent roots on them (don't put them deep in the soil, just get the little rooty nub in). They propagate really easily (like no extra care or anything needed) if you let the plantlets grow out a bit so the rooty nubs are about the thickness of a pencil, and leaves are abouts 3-6" long.

Update! I’ve had good luck propping a prayer plant so this can’t be that hard 😅
