This is AloeBoi. He is quite unhappy. I’m apparently doing something quite wrong… I live in the greater Denver area. He gets watered 1x/week, and succulent fertilizer 1x/month. He has rePotme’s Imperial Aloe Succulent soil, and is in a ceramic draining pot. If it matters, his window faces ENE, and the light meter here says partial sun. He was okay through the winter, but I noticed how thin his leaves are getting recently. I did some reading, and learned that it’s probably related to not getting enough light, so I’ve been putting him out on the patio (faces NWN) for some sunbathing sessions in the afternoon. This afternoon, while I was at a drs appointment, we had an unexpected heavy rain storm blow through. When I got home, AloeBoi had blown out of his pot. For now, I’ve dried his pot, leaves and roots. His roots are looking pretty good (lots of green new roots!) I replaced his wet soil with dry. Anything else I should be doing for him?

Honestly he might need a bigger pot for water to be dispersed throughout time to the roots. He might just be getting too big for his pot. But he’s definitely over watered from the look of the tips. I would try a bigger pot and making the mix of lava rock, sand, and soil in the repotting stage.

Agreed with bigger pot and soil mix. He might enjoy a grow light with better consistency.

    Less water and higher light!

Thanks!!! So what I’m getting is double-check what’s in his soil and his pot size, keep the sunbathing/add a grow light, and ignore him a little more on the watering side. 🥴

Yes. Aloe is one of the plants that thrive on neglect.
