Curious if anyone knows how, or has had experience, selling your mature healthy plants to a local nursery? I am really getting into the hobby and can imagine getting overcrowded with plants!

2 likesI feel you!!
1 likeI doubt a nursery would take them. They would be concerned about pests. I give them away. I have sold a few on Facebook Marketplace. I have a philodendron choco empress that I’m hoping to sell on marketplace. It’s in a very nice pot with a Treleaf Trellis. I was thinking about $150. But still undecided.
2 likesI'd also recommend Facebook Marketplace! But obviously you'd want to offer a competitive price... People are more comfortable going to the store than meeting with a random person so the price would have to be worth it 😅
1 likeThat’s why I’m debating about mine. I’m thinking I’ll just repot into plastic and get rid of the trellis. But locally some people are selling very small plants for well over $100. And my favorite plant store sells plants in 3 inch pots for up to $300. I think it’s crazy. But Facebook is a good place to start.
2 likesMy only problem is that I “divorced” social media a few years ago. There is an app called offer up (kind of an online garage sale thing)…maybe there? Or a local coffee shop that displays and sells art people locally have done…
0 likesUnderstand completely. Facebook is a land of harmful information. But probably your best place to start. The ads on there blow my mind. How can people believe this crap. I use it mostly for our neighborhood page. And local happenings. And some selling.
1 likeIn my area there is always a bunch of farmers markets or little vendor fairs going on, those are great to sell at! I’ve had really good luck at farmers markets.
1 likeThat would be what I have to look for, something local like that! There are sooooo many rules and red tape to shipping plants here from Florida!
0 likesTo be clear I am in Florida, and they have many rules about that sort of thing.
