I believe you can, but be careful transitioning and beware their water roots tend to be more delicate than soil roots. You may want to check out semi-hydroponic instead, I actually just learned about it today from a couple with a gorgeous alocasia collection!

I would check the soil as well. My Alocasias are very sensitive to being too wet and bone dry. They do like a lot of light as well.
2 LikesMy Alocasias all have not done well in soil, and I have tried many different kinds. About a month ago I started switching them to Pon and so far they seem to love it! Definitely worth learning about semi hydro if you are interested in keeping Alocasias. Also.... Check for pests often! There was one time my Alocasia looked like yours and with a much closer look, it had a pretty bad spider mite infestation. š. Good Luck!!
1 LikeAlocasias tend to be like this unless you give them everything they want. 70° and warmer, at least 60% humidity, bright indirect light and an aroid soil mix. If you do transfer to water the leaves will all die and it will be weeks until new roots grow then leaves. Theyāre a lot of work
