I have a huge problem!! I have a ton of little fast crawling bugs in my plants!! Not on the leaves but in the dirt. I think maybe they are spider mites but I’m not sure. I’m freaking out!! Please help!!

Are they white and do you see webbing on the plant
1 j'aimeThey looked kinda yellow green and there were a few flying ones!! I was watering one of my plants and yes one webbed and I bought the web in my hand but the bug got away.
0 J'aimeCan you post pics of the bugs
1 j'aimeI would but I douses everything in neel oil so they are hiding now. I’ll try to go in and find one. Luckily I had just treated the plants with bromide I think is what it’s called, it’s poison you work into the dirt slowly with water. They seemed to be going at one plant more than others but they are definitely on all my plants!!
0 J'aimeI don’t see them on the plant itself, the other night I looked at my plants pretty thoroughly cuz they were moldy, but that was from over watering from what I read, I treated that with cinnamon and a fungicide, anyhow I didn’t see one bug and there wasn’t any sticky stuff on any of their leaves. My plants are actually doing really well, one that I potted in too big of a pot has dried out and even he’s thriving now so it’s very confusing!! Like the cactus I took out of the pot was absolutely loaded with them but he’s even thriving, np signs of distress at all. I’m a newb so I’ve been reading a ton and that’s been helping but this group has been the biggest help of all!! It’s hard to get a pic of them cuz they move so fast and are in the dirt!!
0 J'aimeYeah I don’t see one since I went crazy with the neem oil, but they were all over this one bench and then I don’t really see them in other parts of the room except for the one that came off the plant when I was watering it and like I said it webbed off.
0 J'aimeOmg I picked my cactus up outta his pot and there was a million of them where the root and the cactus come together!! Yikes 😳
0 J'aimeFast-moving bugs on plants are generally friends (beneficial insects/predators), while slow-moving or stationary bugs are usually enemies (pests). Predators move quickly to hunt, whereas pests move slowly because they feed directly on the plant.
1 j'aimeI wish it was plant friendly but I took one of my plants outta the pot and there was a million of them eating at her base where the roots start!! I’m so freaked out and how could I not know??? They haven’t shown any signs of distress other then one that I put in a bigger pot and it got too much water but even he has perked up now. I’m freaking out, I cleaned that plant thoroughly, it was easy cuz he’s just a little cactus 🌵, and I quarantined him but they all live in the same room with me so I can’t really quarantine all of them. I did like I said above treat them so hopefully that helps!! It says the one you slowly water into the soil, the bromide I think is the name, will kill them all off eventually but in the mean time I feel bad!!😞
0 J'aimeThe cactus still has healthy roots and like I said showed zero signs of being in distress!! I also doused them in neem oil!! I’m a newb at this stuff and I’m so thankful for this app and especially for this amazing group!!💚
1 j'aimeTy Becky!! I’m gonna stay positive and wait for the treatment to take hold and hope I didn’t kill anything that was beneficial for them!!💚
1 j'aimeIt doesn’t sound like spider mites as you originally thought, but an FYI, Bonide does not kill spider mites. It kills almost everything else though.
2 J'aimeTy Phil!! I live in FL so I put the problem plant outside and he’ll do just fine there!!💚 I repotted five plants this am that were still in nursery pots and NO bugs in them!! I was so relieved!!😌
