Are there any Fittonia people here? I need some help đ My husband brought her home as a surprise for me on Monday night from Loweâs. I know they say to wait to repot, but the soil was sopping wet at the time and had moldy growth-plus I never trust big box store soil - so I did repot her right away into an appropriately sized planter (with drainage) with a mix of 4 parts coco coir, 2 parts coco chips, 2 parts perlite, 1 part charcoal, and a small bit of worm castings. The roots looked healthy at the time and didnât have any rot or fungal issues. The potting mix was already really moist from me having to soak the coco coir beforehand, so I did not water right then. The next morning (Tuesday), she flopped hard and the soil felt just barely damp, so I thoroughly watered the soil with distilled water, but saw no improvement. I read that it might just be shock and would take a few days to improve, so, I set her about 1 foot away from my North facing window (technically NW but it never gets direct sun), next to a humidifier and on top of a pebble tray in a butterfly net cage (for quarantine purposes). The window is sealed off from any drafts and my Alocasia has been really happy there, so I thought itâd be a good spot. Now itâs Thursday morning and she looks just as sad as she did on Tuesday. The butterfly net cage basically acts as a sheer curtain, so I thought that would also help prevent any exposure to direct sun that everyone says to avoid. The soil is still evenly moist. No signs of pests that I can tell; the quarantine cage is precautionary and the brown specks are just leftover coco coir that I need to brush off. I do see one crispy looking yellow-colored leaf, and a couple others with edges or tips that are crisping up. Some of the other leaves feel really limp/soft to the touch whereas others seem to be firming up again but some are also curling a little. My hygrometer reads the humidity at 79% and the temperature at 66°F. Where did I go wrong here? đ Did I overwater? Is this just a matter of waiting a while longer or do I change something? I consider myself a pretty experienced plant person at this point, but historically I have bad about nurturing plants to death when they have transplant shock. Thanks in advance!
