One of my spider plants made a sprout like that and it turned into a flower! If it ends up being a baby then wait for the leaves to grow upwards on it and let it establish itself, I plant the babies once they're at least 2-3 inches tall

Wait until you see arial roots growing off the babies (looks like a little bump near the bottom) then you cut them off the stem and prop in water or spaghnum moss. Congrats! Mine just flowered for the first time this year and is going off 😂 there’s like three stems now so yours might push out some more too!

Let the baby stay on the vine until the aerial roots get about 1 inch long. That’s how I got an excessive amount of spider plants that I didn’t need. 😂 You can put the baby back into the same pot as the mother to get a thick looking plant.

Mine just suddenly sprouted one of these too and I came to ask bc it looks like a flower is coming in suddenly. Was not there the other day when I watered.

This was originally a baby from the mother plant and has loads of babies and flowers of her own now. I usually wait until there's at least 5 leaves and a good amount of aeriel roots before I remove them from the Mum. You can either put it in the same pot as the Mum for a bushier look as advised above, or start a new plant like I did with this one. They grow surprisingly quickly and before you know it, the cycle begins again. Good luck!

This was potted up in March this year and it started with 10 leaves, so I'd left it attached to Mum for a little longer.

This is the Mum, I would wait until any babies are around the size of the biggest one shown here before removing and replanting. They're pretty hardy, I just plant it straight into a standard potting mix, water well and following the Planta schedule works quite well for me. Or another way to tell it needs watering is when the leaves turn a pale green. Congrats on your new addition 😍

I learned the hard way that my mother plant needed water. For a couple of days I kept saying, she looks like she is getting pale. Gave her a good shower bath and she is back! But now, i am concerned with her turning yellow. It's not all over but I know she needs something. Last fertilizer was 4 weeks ago. I trimmed her babies and now they are being propergated. Repotted her yesterday in a naked roots pot so I can observe her better. Fingers crossed she will do just fine.

I like to let mine grow for a little while on the mom, then I put a little nursery pot with soil next to the moms pot and use a landscape fabric pin and pin the stem with the baby into that soil until it forms roots then snip it off from the mom once it’s established. That always works best for mine to survive. Wish I knew why mine sometimes goes crazy with like 50 babies and some of them never produce one. So crazy how it works!

Ooh that's a great idea! I'll try that next time. Also, 50 is crazy! 🫶😝
