Nothing to see here, just my dang near tri-monthly posting/update for yall of my sensitive plant Pittacus. I let him run free these days and help clean up dead leaves but that’s about it. An ABSOLUTE water hog though lemme tell you!!!

Very nice! I’ve always wanted to have this plant. I keep growing them from seed—they survive for a while, then they die. 🥺 How do you keep yours alive? Did you grow it from seed?
1 LikeIt’s a mix tbh. Some from seed, some from Etsy. I will admit a lot of them die, and some still do, but he’s branched out so much that I just let grow whatever he needs and let die off/ trim whatever he doesn’t. They require SO much water. I have to flood him about twice a day outside while it’s in the high 90s. A very specific needs kind of plant. I have less issues with my Alocascias tbh. But hey, it is a ✨sensitive ✨ plant after all 😅
2 LikesWow, twice a day? 😅 That’s some serious dedication! Honestly, it sounds so worth the effort though. I tried growing them from seed so many times, but about two weeks ago I finally gave up after killing my last batch of seeds. 🥲 Maybe one day I’ll give it another try—or just start with a more established plant. Thanks for sharing your experience! 😊
