Scale or Aeriel roots? I’ve just noticied that my monstera monkey mask has quite a few black dotes on it that emerge from the stems, mostly around the nodes. I sent a picture of chatgpt who first thought it was scale but also potentially thinks it’s could be Aeriel Roots. They are very hard to touch, and some have grown are pointed, which is leading me to think it’s aerial roots, but would love opinions!

    definitely aerial roots. adansonii are natural climbers just like their cousin, the deliciosa. they can get absolutely massive on poles but they can still get pretty big when trailing, at it's biggest mine had leaves around ~8" from stem to leaf tip. right now she's recovering from severe root rot so no pictures 😞

    100999% aerial root nodes starting off. Mine are exactly the same on my adansonii. I secured mine to a bamboo stick for now and will just let the aerial roots do whatever they think is best. Unless that’s to go into my fishtank or neighbor plants
