What should I do about these dead(?) leaves on my aloe plant? Should I just leave them there or should I try and pluck them off?

Prune them always unless they’re dead enough it’ll come right off!
1 j'aimeLeaves that die from the bottom up can be a sign of root rot. Cut them off and check root health

1 j'aimePull the plant out of the pot, and look at the roots (gently remove dirt as needed to get a good look.) Root rot tends to be at the bottom tips of the roots, and would be discolored (black, yellow, brown. You know, moldy colors) or squishy (like with rotting fruit.) If the roots look normal, put plant and dirt back in the pot. If it shows signs of rot, trim away unhealthy roots and treat with fungicide. You can put it back in the same pot but it may help to change out the soil to help remove the rot
