MISTING DOES NOT RETAIN HUMIDITY I feel that I have to say this a lot and no fault to the people who think or have thought this because I totally thought this at one point before I looked into it. I am not saying that it can’t make the plant happier but to have proper humidity one of the best ways is to buy a humidifier.

    How much is a good one that will do the job for a corner of the room?

      Mine was about 40-60$ but it’s more for the entire room I think you could get a smaller one for a corner for 30$ or less. I got one on Amazon but you can get them at any major store

      Mine is ~$27 on amazon and does well for keeping a small area more humid than the rest of the house (around 60% compared to 45%). I keep it right under my nepenthes.

      Yep that size is perfect for a small corner! Yeah I agree misting is fun even if it doesn’t last 😆

    I still mist my plants for fun 😆 but you’re totally right, the humidity effects only last a couple of minutes!!

    You can get a good new in the box one for 20$ on Amazon, just get a used one and it’s typically a brand new one in the box that somebody just returned for one reason or another. I bought one that said it had no filter, spent 3$ on a 30 pack of filters for it, another 6$ on a 20 pack of demineralizer cartridges to put in it, and it showed up with the filter anyways. Definitely recommend using EVAPORATIVE humidifiers as they create much less white dust on every surface and can’t create too much humidity. Ultrasonic humidifiers can create too much humidity that will cause mold, water to accumulate on your leaves, and leaves a nasty white dust on every surface in the room

      I agree, I have heard ultrasonic cause this mine is thankfully evaporative.

    I agree with Nikiller about the white dust issue. But every ultrasonic I have suggests distilled water. I have an RO system in the kitchen and it works fine for this type of humidifier. In fact all I use is RO on all my plants and humidifiers. If you get yourself a hygrometer, you can check your humidity level. I have a room size humidifier in my tropical plant corner. Twelve feet away in my succulents the humidity drops from about 55% to about 35%. Whole house wise it won’t be raising the level up much. And Amazon used is where I got all of mine too. And they all turned out to be new.

      An evaporative also recommends only distilled but I’m not buying 8 gallons of distilled water every week on top of the 2 gallons a week I need for my mineral sensitive plants, that’s why the demineralizing cartridges are fantastic

      Amazon used humidifiers are great I agree people just return them and they were never used.
