It's getting colder here in the Midwest. This is the first year I've been using the window shelves. What do I do during the winter? I have older windows so I think it will be too cold right against the window. Do I find other spots for my plants until it's warm again?
Recommend moving it. Also in the Midwest. Old apartment had bad windows and had a plant die. Maybe get a grow light to supplement the light source that will be shorter.

Sometimes that sealing plastic creates a good enough bubble for warmth, but sometimes the insulation is not enough in the wall itself to prevent the ledge from getting too cold for the pot. Semi succulent plants *can be* cold hardy enough for drafts, but that’s on a case by case basis.

I recommend getting a thermometer display thing to put next to it to monitor the temperature. Succulents like that will be fine and even do better in a cold room, since they will be dormant. They will start showing signs of damage below freezing or so for long periods of time.
