I got a new monstera from a small shop grower (perfect conditions). Seems very healthy and has grown in the past week I’ve had it.. but it’s really starting to lean over. I know they need support but it’s not super big and wasn’t leaning so much when I got home with it. I also think the leaves are facing the back of the stem?? How would I stake that? Any ideas?

Monsteras stretch for that light so possibly reaching for a sunnier spot and going a bit off-kilter? I would probably get some sort of support pole going at this point, those leaves are already getting fenestrations and will only get bigger! You could also try putting it in a heavy cache pot? Something cement or ceramic to try and ground ‘er. Best of luck, it’s a gorgeous plant!

It’s a wild one 😂 I guess I will have to face my fears and put a support haha hasn’t even been watered by me yet! It’s a brand new house baby 🌱 Thank you!

I agree it leans when trying to find light. The current position is too dark compared to the amount of light it was getting in the nursery. Move it to a place with at least 6 hours of bright indirect light or get a grow light.

That’s what I get for going to a good plant shop 🤦‍♀️ the light gets bright there but it was rainy the first few days. I will try to get her some more light 💡 thank you 🙏
