Need bug-repellant advice for my 3 rose bushes. They are in clay soil. They are about the only thing the bugs eat in my front garden bed. Also it only grows one or two bushes at once, when I first got them, they could grow about 9 or 10 each. Thanks! (Beginner here)

Take several sample leaves in a ziplock bag to a local nursery or where you bought it. They have a lot of experience identifying common pests in your areas. Plus, they sell the treatment chemicals. I find the small nurseries have more experienced help than the big box stores. Some roses need to be heavily pruned to produce new growth with blooms. I’m not sure if your rose bushes are that type. Check online if you know the variety. Roses need acidic fertilizer during the growing season to boost growth and blooms. They have formulations specific to roses.

Pretty roses!❤️ I agree pruning roses usually encourages growth. Cutting them back at least would be safe for any rose bush, I think, but Sunny is right, you should verify for sure. Rose fertilizer granules will probably do wonders for it as well. I used to have some random roses in my front flower bed but they almost died. They needed full sun and it’s only part sun/shade out there. I moved them out back where there is full sun, and they have thrived. Now I only have knockout roses out front. All that to say, verify they are getting enough light, but if they have been there a while, they probably are. June bugs are attacking my roses, but my solution is to leave the outside light on to draw the toads to them, so I’m no help there. 😄 A local nursery is a great place to ask about that.😊

Thank you! I think you are correct about the amount of sun so I will probably just move them. Thanks!
