Just brought this little guy home from Facebook Marketplace today! 🪴 Does anyone know how to clear out any possible pests from a succulent? I have my plant spray mixture (neem oil, peppermint soap, and isopropyl alcohol) but I’m afraid it will have a bad reaction. I saw someone online that sprayed neem oil on their donkey tail succulent and all the bulbs fell off! ☹️

Don’t spray anything on the leaves. Sedum burrito has a protective film on the leaves that does not regenerate once removed, and protects them from being sunburnt. I think your best bet would be to use sticky traps and spray insecticidal soap on the soil by carefully taking the plant out of the pot and spraying the soil and exposed roots on the sides, being careful to keep the leaves dry, and using mosquito bit tea when watering the plant to prevent or treat fungus gnats. Hope this helps!

Here’s a photo of your plant’s cousin, sedum morganianum, to wish yours good luck 😊 I’ve had Xochi here for a little over a year now. Started off as just two stems in May of last year and she quickly became one of my favorite plants. It’s not fun to have to repot, but I’ve luckily found that no pests have ever been too attracted to mine. At best, I’ve added a sticky trap nearby to keep anything that tried coming in from the front door its window is next to from sneaking into the soil, but other than that, Xochi’s been pest free! Hope you have the same luck with yours 🌼

So beautiful! 😍 Thank you for the advice and gorgeous pictures! I’ll have to give those methods a shot. Do you think it would work as well with peppermint castile soap or does it have to be insecticidal?

Insecticidal would have a broader reach in terms of what pests it’ll repel, but the Castile soap wouldn’t hurt
