Amen to that from South Texas! I dragged my poor large potted plants outside yesterday and removed the plastic and blankets off the ones too big to move indoors. My old ponytail palm and even older upright elephant ears look much better this morning.

Oh yay bet your plants are def happier! I’ve had an elephant ear before, they are not easy plants (at least for me😆)

Mine have been on the east side of my shed since the early 2000s. They get morning light and afternoon shade. They are in the same pot and same soil since I bought them from the garden center. 😅 They are root bound and happy.

They are in 10” pots and are about 4 feet tall. I fertilize with an inch of cow manure every spring. They are full of tree frogs during the warm moths until the first freeze in November/December.

Oh trust me- I understand your pain! Mine will be doing amazing 1 minute then dropping down to one leaf the next 😭. Honestly, the best thing to do is wait it out til she’s finally “happy” lol. Mine is in Pon (it’s a semi hydro substrate) if you’re familiar! and she’s also in a high humidity environment and I feel like those 2 things help a lot. But she did worse before she started actually holding onto her leaves! Also - keep an eye on pests - they are super prone to spider mites (at least mine are)!
