How do spider plants thrive? I’ve tried all different light levels, watering when super dry or slightly dry, and I still have all crispy tips and fading color. It’s only in this direct light for the picture, otherwise in bright indirect light. Should I switch to distilled water?

I’ve got 4 different types of spider plants, and don’t think there is any way to stop the ends going crispy. The RHS website gives you some tips, but it all says just cut the tips off for aesthetics. If you can try the bathroom near the window mine went crazy in there, I’ve had to move it to my office as my son complained it was too big, they like the steam.

My roots can be seen at the bottom, if it hasn’t had stalks grow off it ( looks a bit like wheatgrass to start with) leave it & it will flower & you’ll get real spider plants fall down instead of the pups, mine has just started doing it & yours looks over 2 years old. I was quite surprised, I didn’t know they flowered.

I have my spider plants right next to my west facing windows and they love it and thrive! I put the pots in a deep bowl and let the soak up water all day from the bottom. It’s like they grow over night the next day after that! Mine have no brown on the ends and lots of shoots

From what I know about more fussy plants this can be caused by a number of reasons (drying out between watering , sun exposure etc) however I found when I switched from my tap water it stopped as the tap water I was using was really harsh (look up your area and see if it’s suitable) distilled water has less chemicals and metals in it and my rattlesnake plants, palms , other prayer plants are now thriving
