Hello Everyone, I just watered this rubber plant twice and a lot of the water ran out. I moved the dirt around and the soil is not even wet in some areas. I made sure first pour was not at edges. Why does this happen? Thank you in advance!

Maybe your soil has become hydrophobic? You can try letting the pot soak in water for at least an hour to make sure all the soil is saturated.

That’s why it’s better to bottom water so the soil soaks up water on its own

Even if I just repotted on 5/20 in terracotta pot with new soil? I repotted 4 other plants at the same and the soil is ok although they are watered more frequently. Plants advises watering the rubber plant every 16 days.

I double checked plant type on line and Planta was incorrect. It is a Peperomia Clusiifolia ‘Ginny’. I used a tropical soil mix.

Watering/fertilizer timeframe appears to be ~ the same.
