Has anyone had any luck with propagating an umbrella tree? Mine is about 3 years old and is getting super tall and starting to lean. I was thinking about trying to propagate some off the top if it wasn’t too risky.

Someone else has the same question a few weeks back and a lot of people recommend air layering. There are videos on YouTube if you’re interested

😂 Well it’s always an option if you need a backup plan. Just remember you’ve made it through every challenge you’ve ever faced. Some how, some way! Besides, you’re a woman so by definition you can do hard things! 😊

I had a wayward branch growing from the side of my umbrella tree. I chopped it, let it callous for a day or two, then popped it into some tapwater in a mason jar. It took about two weeks (I think?) before those little bumpy nodes started shooting out roots. Once they were about two to three inches long, I propped her into some soil and so far so good! The propagation hasn’t grown much but it also has only been a couple of months and it was a relatively small offshoot. Good luck!
