I recently got a snake plant, but I’m not quite sure how to care for it! I currently have it under a grow light for 12 hours a day. I haven’t watered it yet, because it was soaked and sitting in water when I got it. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you! 🪴

Neglect. Neglect. Neglect. But also care for it. I have various snake plants in different lighting (in a window and as far away from windows), but main thing is leave to dry completely. If it is further from a window it’ll take longer to dry out, so keep an eye on it.

Okay, so I can put it in a corner or something that doesn’t get direct light and it will still be okay?

Absolutely. I have a few like that. They push out new growth extremely slowly anyway, so will be even slower. You can put it in the sun or a lighter spot for a holiday if you want to help it out with growth but it should survive in low light conditions easily.

I wouldn’t put this is a dark corner — if you’ve got the space for it under this light I’d keep it there — especially since it’s small. These grow really well with lots of light. Mine is in a west window and pushed out 6 pups at once this summer For darker spaces it’s good to buy the plant at the size you want it to be because it will grow very slowly like urban jungle said

Okay, thank you. I’ll leave it under the light since I have the room. And hooray for you, six pups?!! 🥳

Wouldn’t let it sit in water. Dump it out after a thorough watering
