What’s everyone’s favorite cat-friendly (non-toxic) houseplants?? I have a spider plant, prayer plant, polka dot plant, string of turtles, string of hearts and baby rubber plant.. and fire flash seeds on the way. But looking for good ones to add to my wishlist 😊

😂 I have 4 cats so I’m not sure if it would stand a chance here either

Rattlesnake plant. It’s a Goeppertia (Calathea) and I think those are non toxic to cats. My daughter has one and it’s gorgeous. It’s the one Calathea I can grow. Prayer plants die in my house.

So pretty!! đŸ€© Definitely adding this to my list! For some reason, my prayer plant thrives in my north-facing window and has been flowering left and right! I can keep it alive but can’t keep a succulent alive for the life of me 😅

Then the rattlesnake will definitely thrive!

That is gorgeous!!! You are definitely doing all the right things with that one!! I’m a little jealous because Calatheas are so pretty and I so can’t have them. â˜č

Here’s another good one. Cretan Brake Fern. It’s super fun because you can literally practically see it grow. It needs a lot of water so you can’t really overwater these guys. But for sure do not let it dry out. It says they need high humidity but mine is thriving in 40-50% humidity which is pretty normal. I struggle not to overwater my plants so this one is doing great!

My daughter also has a massive maidenhair fern in the middle of her dining table that just lives it there. I can’t keep them alive to save my life but if you have a spot in your house it will like then you’d have it made. And they’re so pretty.

you could grow cat grass or cat nip for them!

I’ve tried both before and one of my cats rips them out of the soil 😂 Maybe if I can find a good place to put them where they can’t reach then give them cuttings!

Nerve plants (fittonia), there are tons of really pretty Peperomia and all of them are non toxic, most ferns as well. If you’re patient, watermelon begonia (pellonia repens) is fun to watch.

Pony tail palm, all Calathea’s (Stella is really pretty), money tree, Chinese money plant, Staghorn Fern, Birds Nest Fern, Cast Iron Plant, Bromeliads, Orchids, Pileas, waffle plant, peperomia, Hoya, stromanthe triostar to name a few. Anything that dangles needs to be placed on a taller stand or somewhat out of reach. The cats can’t help themselves. The ASPC has a comprehensive list that’s worth checking out.

I had a ponytail palm and my cats loved to try to chew on the leaves. I guess the sharp leaves didn’t deter them 😅

Polka dot plant! Fun colors and pretty easy to care for. My cats only took a few bites, so apparently it doesn't taste good😂

😂 Yours is gorgeous! I just got a pink one and it’s like a third of the size of yours, I’m gonna show it this pic to motivate it to grow big and strong lol

If you’re looking for another hanging/vining plant my mona lisa lipstick plant is one of my favorites-in my opinion low maintenance which is nice. Mine just got its first flowers!
