Have you checked the roots?

that’s stem rot, usually from progressive root rot, which is caused by overwatering. the only way to save the mushy parts is to cut away any rot and try to propagate the rest
1 mi piacehow would you propagate the rest?

cut them into pieces with at least a node or two, and reroot in your media of choice. any roots that are firm and white/off-white are healthy and should be good to plant back in soil. i recommend adding additional drainage material if you’re using plain potting soil
2 Mi piacewould it be better if i was to put these into water first and wait for some roots?
0 Mi piaceYou can put them in water until the roots are at least two inches before repotting. Clean the water weekly or sooner if cloudy/green. You can add SuperThrive to the water to help get more roots.
1 mi piacedefinitely repot to much smaller pot

looks like root rot. you should propagate and put in clean water. cut right below a node so that it will re grow roots. then you can plant back in soil when the roots are at least three inches long💚
