Does anyone know what these are in my soil? They are small and white, I thought they were rocks but I don’t think they are since they crumble very easily, there’s multiple of them and I’m just wondering what they are (this is it split in half)

Kinda hard to see, but it’s probably perlite. Just something mixed into soil to help with drainage!

Sorry about it being hard to see, the camera wouldn’t focus! And thank you!

Yep! Perlite is great for drainage, soil aeration (which prevents root rot) and has a very high surface area that makes it really effective for propagating plants as well. It’s the one thing I include in every single potting mix!

If it feels like popcorn or those package foams then it’s perlite. If it’s harder like a rockish it might be pumice
