The age old debate for plant parents. How many of you repot as soon as you bring a new plant home vs waiting a month or so until the plant has had a chance to acclimate?

I repot right away and all of them seem to be fine 😅

I sometimes don’t repot for months after, they’re all fine!

I always take out the plant, check the soil, roots and stem to make sure no rotting or bad soil and either put it back into the same pot or change out the soil and back into the same pot unless it needs to be potted up a size. Never had an issues and helped fix stem rot or root rot that I’ve found when doing my check at home. Always 💯 recommend at least taking the plant out and checking it thoroughly.

Depends on the type of plant and condition it’s in when you bring it home. Something more prone to shock, I wait at least a month for it to acclimate to my home before repotting. Something hardier that I just bought from a box store that probably potted it in a poorly draining soil, the wrong type of soil, in too big of a pot, or with those plastic root cages, I repot them on the day I bring them home.

I repot immediately after washing away all old soil and spray a diluted alcohol spray for pests and quarantine from other plants for 30 days. Never had issues doing this. I do not believe there is a right or wrong here, you know your established plants and household priorities. ☺️

I repot depending on how root bound I think the plant is, otherwise I just normally put them in a nice cover pot

I usually repot but depends on the plant. Succulents always they are usually overwatered. Others I unpot to see the roots and then decide. I have actually changed out to a smaller pot because almost no roots on a plant. And check to see if caged in netting or whatever. Then isolate for a few weeks.
