What is happening to my peace lily? How do I save it? The white plant is starting to go black, I don’t know what to do. I received it as a gift that was ordered from 1-800-Flowers. I’ve only watered it twice since receiving it, planta suggests I water this every 6 days.

Have you repotted it? Sometimes these gift plants have soil with little aeration or are seeded and grown in a medium that suffocates the roots which causes them to rot off and die. I would suggest repotting, checking for root rot, and snipping off rotten roots if there are any. Then repotting in a good chunky mix. Good luck!

Any soil mix from Home Depot you’d suggest?

The flowers on a Peace Lily will eventually die off. They don’t last forever.

water only when it’s abt 70% dry or it’s leaves are drooping (which must not be the planta schedule). don’t repot as peace lilies are sensitive to change. as S.R. said, flowers die off. trim back the flower and if it’s getting adequate light, they’ll be back in a few weeks. happy growing!

As Sydnei said, water when the leaves are drooping a bit. It will perk up right away.
