What is everyone’s recommendations on soil and mixtures? Trying to make my own now - i recently bought perlite but i know its not good for all plants!

    My mixture is 1 bag cactus soil, 1 bag perlite, 1 bag orchid bark and 2.6lb bag of organic earthworm castings (Amazon). Mix it all up in a 27L Rubbermaid tote. ☺️ My plants love it! 🪴

    what kind of plants do you have? most tropicals do well in a 1:1:1 blend of moisture retention (like coco coir and worm castings), organic chunks (like fir bark or coco chips) and inorganic chunks (like perlite and pumice)

  3. Hens and chicks

    I make all my own soil! I don’t trust all those other brands like miracle gro so I just get a really good all purpose potting mix to use as a base and than I add different things for each kind of plant. Perlite for succulents, sand for my Cherimoya trees, orchid bark for my citrus and so on. I use fox farm ocean forest potting mix.
