Heyy, Ive just bought a self watering pot ( string comes out of the bottom and sits in water) for my spineless yucca, but all it has done is drench the soil :/ so I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong. To much water maybe 🤷 or if these pots are just useless. Thanks for any help and advice

I've only just started experimenting with self-watering pots and I do think they are better for certain types of plants than others, particularly moisture-loving plants or plants that don't like to have their soil dry out completely. For a plant like this one (i.e. a drought tolerant plant that doesn't like to be overwatered) I would absolutely make sure you're letting the soil dry out completely before you refill the reservoir. I'd also keep track of how much water you put in the reservoir and how quickly your plant drinks it/how long the soil is staying wet for, and adjust accordingly if the plant is staying wet for too long by not filling the reservoir with as much water and/or not refilling as frequently. In the ones I use, if there is any water left 5 days after refilling the reservoir, I pour it out and adjust the amount accordingly next time I fill it.
