Plant Dad

Would anyone have any tips, tricks or suggestions on how to do this? To me, it looks like they kept cutting the main stem back which allowed multiple branches to grow, eventually forming the sphere...? I I have three Tineke trees that came in the same pot and definitely one to attempt this with one of them...

Cut off the top to make it branch and cut any part that strays from the shape. Also keep cutting to make it branch even more so it has the desired amount of branches in the right directions to give a shape that resembles the picture. In other words follow Bosnia logic by pruning it to the right shape without over doing it in a detrimental way.

Thank you for your reply. That's kind of what I was thinking was pretty much just keep cutting until I get the desired amount of branches growing in the desired directions that I need them to. ...Even if it is AI, still a cool concept that I would love to try to make happen being iI have three of them lol

I would definitely look up bonsai wiring techniques as well. You won't have that much control over where your tree pushes out new branches (notching isn't a guarantee, just encourages/stimulates growth) so guiding new branches in preferred directions can help you balance growth to better form that full-looking lollipop shape

This looks kinda fake... no hate if it isn't but the lighting, perfect even shapes, and cleanness of absolutely everything looks a little fake

Definitely a drawing. But i agree with Ezzeldin. You would just go about bonsai pruning and shaping it.

Oh it is definitely AI generated lol. Doesnt mean it isnt possible though. Lol. It might never turn out to look like the picture but i love the concept of it .

I'm debating on when to start it. I know pruning is best in Spring, however, I don't get freezing Temps where I am so I'm not sure if it would matter if I prune this time of year or not. Bit I will keep you posted for sure. It's going to take a couple of years (I think) to get that many branches to grow then fill in...

Would air layering work? To get bushy branches at the top?
