Recently left a Banana plant outside too long and the weather turned cold. Been trying to bring this back to life for the past couple of weeks. Currently it’s in a plant tent with a plant lamp on it and a humidifier. Any tips are greatly appreciated

If you give full sun it should bounce back. I’ve had banana trees grow back when I assumed they were totally dead and I reused the soil for something else. They’re fighters!

Thank you, right now the weather in the Midwest doesn’t really let me put it outside and it’s hard to get consistent sunlight in certain areas of the house. Is it safe to keep it under the lamp for a couple more weeks until the weather breaks?

It should be fine. Worst case, it will die back and pop back up when it’s warmer.

The are very resilient plants. It should revive. The pot looks too big. Banana plants use a lot of water. Excess soil holds more water than the plant can usually which can lead to root rot. Repot or just watch it to see if it’s affected. I would not be surprised if it puts out shoots to eventually fill the pot. 🍀🪴

So this plant used to be much bigger and had 3 decent size pup. I left it outside too long and the leaves turned to mush basically so I had to cut all of it off. Now I’m just trying to figure out what to do to bring it back or if it’s completely dead. I see what looks like really green sprouting down the center but the base is just so thin I’m worried it’s going to keep growing leaves and toppling

These look like the side shoots. The main trunk usually dies and the energy from the remaining roots goes to the side shoots. See the picture of the large dead main trunks of my banana plants that died from a hard week long freeze this past winter. The small thin side shoots will become as thick as the old trunks given sufficient water and fertilizer. Yours will grow. Just be cautious of them getting too much water in that large pot. You may have to reduce the pot size to prevent root rot. Good luck. 🍀 🪴
