I don’t have one so I’ve got no input on care tips, unfortunately.

They are invasive and almost impossible to kill. They thrive in bright light environments. I actually throw some in my flower beds after the first freeze. Just know that they do spread out, not climb. Good draining soil and water every now and then. Take props when you can because you will have plenty of lol

Trandescantia Zebrina. The nanouk has a much lighter/brighter pink to it.

Almost impossible to kill is 100% true. They propagate as easy and fast as a classic pothos too. They are so determined to live it’s almost annoying, Super invasive in my state. But I still love them and their determination!

I wouldn't say impossible when they're in pots! I feel like my zebrina needs to be chopped and propped constantly cuz the vines can't handle their own weight for too long. I've also found they like to break off where they sit on the pot. They are very easily propagated tho! I think the biggest reason these die on ppl is from them being ground covering plants and ppl not understanding they need constant propagation.

You can also call it a Silver Inch Plant instead. They grow natively on the rainforest floor in Central America. If you’re keeping it indoors, give it bright indirect light and water when the top layer or top 25% of soil is dry. The leaves will also crisp up and die off if they get water on them indoors (outdoors they can handle it), so I bottom water mine to avoid that. It’s a crawling plant, so will do especially well in a wide, shallow planter, and it propogates super easily. It’s a fun plant to have!

I have mine in a self-watering pot that sits dry for a few days in between fills, grows so fast, props easily, needs very little fertilizer, and make sure the soil drains/is gritty. Mine actually showed a few teeny tiny flowers this week!

I have many plants in PON, but I have never let any of them go dry, at least not on purpose! I understand this is necessary for plants that like to be on the dry side, but I have none of those in PON. For this particular plant, what is the reasoning behind this? TIA!

Mine isn’t submerged in the water, just in a pot with a wick and reservoir, but the reason they are fine having the soil dry for a time is tradescantia are semi-succulent and store water in their stems. Less need for the roots to constantly have water access.

If you want it to be full and bushy, don’t let it get too long and leggy. Cut it to encourage growth. I’ve propagated so many and planted them right back in the middle. (I got this from someone on Facebook marketplace a few years ago and it’s getting there but I’d still like it to be more full)
