Just nabbed this gorgeous Thai Pink Passion Lipstick Plant at Lowe’s 😆 Anyone who knows about this type of plant knows they’re pretty hard to find, especially at a low price, but it was fresh stock and $20! I was so shocked. Wanted to give the heads up for anyone else who scopes the Lowe’s houseplant section out for rare finds to keep your eyes peeled for some new stock this month. For anyone that was hunting for one of these like I was, GO TO LOWE’S. 🩷🌸

Also scored this lovely 6-in Hoya Curtisii that day. This one needed a little TLC and was in too big of a pot. It’s currently in a 4 1/2-in pot and quite a few of the leaves were yellowed and dropped off from being in excess moist soil for too long, but it was only $16 and I’m very used to rescuing plants in much worse condition from Lowe’s. I spotted peperomia orbas and hoya krimson princess on the shelves as well, so any peperomia or hoya fans should keep their eyes peeled 👀

What are the dots on the back of that one leaf on the lower right side hanging down. It’s the only leaf that has it underneath dude visible. Hope they are harmless spots. You are very lucky with this find! Congratulations in being a plant sleuth! 🍀🍀🍀

I think it’s just the ‘pores’ of the leaves. This type of Hoya has a really textured leaf. And the front of it is just a variegation that gives the leaves their white pattern.

Oh sorry……I should have said on the pink passion lipstick plant. It’s in the second picture when you blow the photo up of the first plant. I have a Hoya and it’s never bloomed. It is a Hoya Carnosa.

Ohh 😂 yeah that’s just edema. I see it on a lot of succulents and epiphytes. Just means it had a change in temperature or humidity while the soil was drying out or the soil isn’t well-draining enough. Thanks for pointing it out, though. You don’t cut off leaves with edema until you’re sure the cause of the edema stopped affecting the plant, or it’ll just spread to new foliage. It’s not fungal infection or anything. It has to do with the cells of the plant’s leaves literally bursting. I’m just leaving that leaf until I’m sure the edema stopped spreading. Probably happened from the trip to the store and changes in temperature and humidity involved in the move in location.

Thank you 😊 I’m really excited to see it bloom someday. Your pothos is lovely. Sad to say I can’t collect them because of my dog, but I was very happy to learn a while back about the non-toxic goldfish and lipstick plants. The blooms are supposed to look like this 🌸
