The app is telling me to trim back 30% on my Coleus Oxford Street! It was the size of my hand when I got it early summer. I have brought it inside since it’s been getting cold at night (I’m in MO) and it is still growing like crazy!! As you can see, there are a few dull leaves, but most are bright and happy. What are the benefits of cutting it back? Can I prop them? How? Will it hurt it to let it keep getting bigger?

Benefits would include bushing out and preventing it from getting leggy. Coleus are so easy to prop! Just drop them in water, or right back in the soil. In my experience they grow roots super fast!

Coleus can get leggy if not trimmed but tbh if yours got that big and lush without pruning I’m not sure you need it now! They are short-lived though so I recommend propagating early and often. If you end up with extras give them away!
