On Saturday I experienced the worst pain I think I’ve ever had!! This is a puss caterpillar aka asp! Felt like my finger was on fire!! I accidentally rub against it while trimming some branches at 7pm I was in so much pain until I finally fell asleep around 4am 🥲 I’m all better now
Omg! Sorry that this happened and thank you for the public service announcement! Never seen one of those caterpillars.. ouch
1 like I live in Texas right now fall is their peck! now I just need to watch out for my dogs because they like to snack on the hackberry leafs( not toxic to dogs they just like the sweetness the new growth the leafs have)

Oh my gosh! I’ll never forget when I was about 10 years old we were walking in to my grandparents house im Houston for Thanksgiving with my great grandfather who was so old and scary to us. He was very tough and rough and he had missing fingers. He stopped and he looked and he said, “ THAT’S AN ASP”!!! and he squashed it with the end of his cane! That was my only experience with one of these. Needless to say you two have left a big impression on me.
1 like Wow! I’ve never knew these kind of caterpillars existed, I did research on it while I was in pain haha! I learned a lot! They are the most venomous caterpillars in America

1 like Yes! The ice helped the best! It numb it but one I removed it of course the pain was back the pain even travel to my elbow
