I’m generally new to being a plant parent, since shortly before Mother’s Day this year. This means most of my plants are new, especially my bigger ones. I’ve noticed that almost every plant I have has been producing shorter stems/petioles/stalks/etc than what they’ve had pre grown when I bought them. My Thai constellation just finished putting out a new leaf that has about 7” less length of petiole, a deliciosa with a new leaf that’s about 4” less length of petiole. My new regal shield is still developing its leaf but based of how far the leaf has opened vs the length of its stem, it’s going to be sitting directly in front of and completely blocking the previous newest leaf. I’m sure this is all just due to having adequate lighting in my plant set up? Less reaching for the light? Also do monstera (and other aroids) leaves continue to grow after fully opening and hardening? If not then my Thai constellation is putting out a shorter and smaller leaf but with way more fenestrations.

No monstera leaves do not keep growing after they harden. My Thai con has produced smaller leaves with more fenestrations before

yes, shorter petioles means it doesn't have to reach for sun like it did before, they're getting the amount of light they want. if you rotate your regal shield you should be able to find a position where the leaves stop overlapping, then continue rotating every few days so they don't settle on top of each other again. i have the same problem with my frydek right now and that has been my solution lol
