Hey all, I just got this plant from a family member. I’m still really new to plants. I was reading that pruning can help the plant be fuller and less lanky. I just wasn’t sure how to do that, how much to cut off, etc. Some advice is much appreciated! ☺️

I've pruned my pothos and I just cut it to the length I want. All the cuttings can also be propagated for more plants

Basically, wherever you snip a stem, it will branch there when it regrows. So if you want a plant to look fuller, cut some stems way back close to the base, and as they regrow it will look more lush. If you don’t want it to grow that long, you can just give the whole thing a haircut and cut it back a foot and it will regrow from there.

FYI: I don’t know if you know that once you clip a stem, you can then put the pieces of stem into water to propagate. The stems should be five or 6 inches, or more. In several weeks, you’ll notice tiny, white roots growing from the stems. You then let the stems grow lots of those roots, until you have a hairy mess in your glass… then you can plant them, and have a brand new plant! It is so easy to prop a philodendron. Have fun getting your old plant to look fuller, and at the same time, hatch a new baby plant! 🤗💚🪴

Thank you! I had heard of that but didn’t know how to do it! 🤗

You could Google it! There are LOTS of videos on YouTube that show how to properly propagate plants. If you’re new to it, I would suggest to check out a couple b CB where you cut is key to success 😉
