Pardon the mess that is my plant room! I'm waiting on my plant stand to be shipped so I can move them to the south facing window for fall. I'm looking for more easy-care plants. I LOVE variegation! Any suggestions on other pretty babies i can try to love? Bonus points if its easy to propagate! Thanks for helping this newish plant mama out!

Syngonium and pothos are both pretty easy and come in so many varieties. Also both are so easy to propagate

Going to search for both now! Thank you so much. I have a pothos n’ joy that I sun scorched over the summer along with a nerve plant. The new one is me trying to redeem myself lol. I'm ready to succeed more often! Haha. Thank you for your advice. ☺️

I’ve propped so many Pothos, that I can’t even count them! Just trim off a few inches of stems, put them in water, and wait for the little tiny white roots to fill your pot; then plant! Ask further questions for more clarification; I’d be glad to help you further. Good luck! 🤗💚🪴 PS. Here’s one I’ve propped…

Also voting for syngonium. I’ve gone from none to 4 😂

I just researched syngoniums, and realized I have two… an African Evergreen ‘Nephthytis’, and a ‘Three Kings’! Duhhhh…🙄! I had absolutely no idea that they were easy to propagate. Can you tell me how you do this? TIA. 🤗💚🪴

Cut with a clean knife or shears under a set of nodes (the bumpy things) then you can let the cutting sit for an hour or two to almost callous over. Then plant in soil or put in water

Try to keep a minimum of three leaves on a cutting is my rule of thumb but you can do less

So, I just cut a piece of my plant out, with the roots, making sure I have at least three leaves on this piece; then put it in dirt or plop it in water… Is that all there is it? Is putting it in dirt, better than putting it in water, or vice versa? How long do you wait before you put the rooted piece into its permanent pot with soil? TXS for answering all these annoying little questions… 🤗💚🪴

PS. How large is the piece that you cut out with the three leaves… 1“ x 1“, or larger??? TIA…🤗💚🪴

Here’s a cutting I took. You can see on the bottom left of the piece I cut below the nodes. Then I just stick it in water and it started growing from those nodes. Sorry my first post was kind of confusing. As long as the cutting has those little nodes eventually it will root

I will probably wait until there are at least 2” of roots (with secondary roots) before planting in soil

I water prop because it’s less messy

I like water propping, also; that’s what I have used in propping my pothos plants. You’re right, I can imagine it would be much less messy than dirt,😣! Thanks so much for your informative posts; I really appreciate the time you have taken to tutor me in the art of propping. Now I can work on making my own syngonium babies! 🤗💚🪴
